from Swedish Agent Side Grinder! With their past albums “Agent
Side Grinder” (2008), “Irish Recording Tape” (2009) and
“Hardware” (2012) they have grown to become a respected and well

Dominatrix, the short lived synth-pop creation of producer Stuart
Argabright, producer Ken Lockie, vocalist Claudia Summers, and
keyboardist Peter Baumann are responsible for a record that is
widely considered a starting point in the early 80s bridge
between 1970s disco and 1980s dance and are widely regarded as
pioneers in the “freestyle” genre that was spawned in NYC in the
early 80s.

Many consider the band’s only single, “The Dominatrix Sleeps
Tonight” as the very first freestyle record to achieve mainstream
success. The risque subject matter of the song, particularly
it’sreferences to S&M and bondage, were rumored to have played a
part in major media outlets refusal to play the single, but it
did not stop legendary NYC clubs and DJs from propelling the
record to #2 on the dance music charts. The record still finds a
cult following as an anthem in S&M and bondage circles in the
U.S. and Europe and now finds a way to your home turntable by the
good folks at Get On Down. Get On Down is proud to present
Dominatrix’s – ‘The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight’ on solid hot pink
7″ vinyl complete with enhanced audio quality and artwork
reflecting the original Streetwise Records aesthetic.

The record’s b-side also features a very rare recording with Kool
DJ Red Alert; “Beat Me Scratch Me Scratch Me Beat Me” was
previously only available on UK and German 7″ pressings from that
era.

the listener. Dominated by the voice of Larissa Iceglass, which
embraces us like an unknown warmth coming straight from the
blackest abyss, the elegance of the guitar parts, the sad bass
and synthesizer melodies, the poetic tenderness of the lyrics,
this album is of a unique hopeful but gloomy romantic. ”Besides
the abyss” is gorgeous and timeless. Lebanon Hanover hold the
key to our soul as we all ”walk a path of failures and of
heights”. Their way of giving new breath to old structures, of
expressing a universal emotion, is almost addictive and we
consider ourselves lucky not having to live long without their
music. The album consists of ten new recordings. It has been
written and performed by Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline
in Athens, May 2013. For the first time a guest musician goes
with Lebanon Hanover in the studio, playing for “the Moor” the
most sorrow-filled saxophone you’ve ever heard. Chris Manolitsis
is the man behind the production, mixing and mastering, giving
the final touch, intensifying these tracks exactly the way he
did it in the early 80s. An unlimited edition with bonus track
is now underway and we expect the record to be ready in late
February, 2015.
